I’ve had this for a few months now, and I think it’s a good time to share my thoughts. I purchased it to help with recovery after workouts and to alleviate discomfort from long days on my feet. For context, I also own a more expensive body massager that has been on the market for quite some time. While the specifications differ, their functionality is quite similar.
Initially, I nearly returned this product upon receiving it. The spiky adapter designed for head massage had a strong plastic chemical odor, which I hope has been addressed since my purchase. I recommend either discarding it or letting it air out for weeks, as I did. It’s best kept outside, in the garage, or in a ziplock bag with baking soda if you choose to keep it. I was curious to try it, so I aired it out in the garage. When I finally tested it, it was decent, but my main reason for buying it wasn’t for head massages.
I wanted to avoid spending too much on another massager, aiming for something simple with decent reviews. At the time, it was more affordable than others and doesn’t include a heat feature, which I was okay with. I appreciated the variety of attachments it came with. The primary one I use has a small bump in the center, which does a great job of focusing the pulses. The unit is quite light, making it easy to maneuver, though some may perceive its lightness as a lack of effectiveness. Compared to the heavier, slower-pulsing massager I passed on to a family member, this one is lighter and has a faster pulse rate.
Another positive is its DC motor with variable slider speeds, rather than just preset options, which allows for more customization. In terms of effectiveness, it’s pretty good. The shorter pulse distance feels gentler than what I’m used to, even on the highest setting. Because it has a high pulse rate, I’ve found it effective to let it work while I move it around the targeted areas. For instance, I focus on my right shoulder for a minute, then switch to the left, repeating this back and forth a couple of times. The handle is comfortable, though it tapers off too much; I wish it were a bit longer, as I often find myself gripping near the cord.
Overall, it has proven to be worth keeping. While it may not perform like some other products on the market, it holds its own within its price range. I’d rate it a 3.5/5, potentially a 4/5 in the future if it remains durable over the next year.
