I’ve been struggling with nerve pain in my lower back for years, likely sciatica. No doctor has been able to provide a clear diagnosis. A physical therapist tried “trigger point treatment,” which helped temporarily but was time-consuming and expensive. At least I learned where the issue lies and how to alleviate it. After relying on countless pain medications, including Oxycodone, I decided to give this device a try. I figured it was worth a shot; if it didn’t work, I could always return it through Amazon.
What can I say? This device has been fantastic for me. I’m currently pain-free without pills. I lie on my side on the couch and position the massager on my glutes, hips, thighs, and lower back. I start gently, testing and adjusting until I find what feels best. It has a lot of power, and at first, it can be a bit uncomfortable until my muscles loosen up. Gradually, it works out the tension. I’ve started to wedge it between myself and the couch for added pressure and deeper relief. Although it’s recommended to use the “15-minute program,” I often go longer if needed. It does get quite warm, which some may find too much for regular use. However, half an hour a day works wonders, and over time, I’ve found I don’t need it every day anymore.
I even bought one for my mother because I was so impressed. She tried it for her neck, but at 80 years old, she couldn’t handle it. She exclaimed, “Ouch, that hurts!” and it was a no-go for her.

Recently, after moving some wood loading ramps early in the morning, I suddenly felt an intense pain in my back, making it difficult to stand. This isn’t the first time this has happened, but it’s rare. Usually, it’s just a muscle strain that brings initial pain followed by soreness that lasts from a few weeks to a couple of months. The morning after this latest incident, I ordered this back massager, and it arrived within a couple of hours. The foam roller was too painful to use and wasn’t providing the relief I needed. This massager delivered such intense relief, reaching deep tissues that I experienced a euphoric sensation. However, it felt so good that I leaned heavily on it, causing the balls to hardly move, and I ended up bruising my back around the spine. Now, I can only use this massager gently until the bruise heals. The heating feature isn’t very warm, but I did notice it.

However, for anyone in similar circumstances, I can attest that the best remedy has been strengthening my core through exercises like sit-ups, pull-ups, and push-ups, along with weight loss. I also own a TENS unit, which works well, but it’s challenging to place the pads on my back alone. I have heating pads, ice pads, foam rollers with and without knobs, a Bosu ball, and various topical treatments like Icy Hot, Tiger Balm, and Biofreeze. I’ve even got a hot tub with numerous jets and different seating options. This massager is a fantastic addition to my arsenal. I purchased an acupressure mat at the same time, initially skeptical about it compared to a shiatsu heated massager. However, I’m now using the acupressure mat alongside the shiatsu massager and light stretching, allowing me to return to work in just a few days with only mild stiffness and discomfort instead of debilitating pain and immobility.
